Sculpt and Paint Application
The sculpt of Scrooge McDuck is exceptional. NECA has captured his distinctive look perfectly, from his top hat and spectacles to his red frock coat and spats. The figure stands about 7 inches tall, matching the scale of other Ultimate figures, and the proportions are spot-on. The head sculpts are particularly impressive, with three interchangeable heads that offer different expressions: a confident smirk, a stern glare, and a cheerful grin.
The paint application is clean and precise, with no slop or bleeding. The red of his coat is vibrant, the gold of his buttons and pocket watch is metallic, and the white of his shirt is crisp. Even the tiny details, like the pattern on his vest and the buckles on his shoes, are painted with care. This is a figure that will look great on any shelf.
- Multiple interchangeable head sculpts with different expressions
- Clean paint application with vibrant colors
- Accurate to the classic DuckTales design
Articulation and Posability
Articulation is a key factor for any action figure, and the Scrooge McDuck Ultimate does not disappoint. The figure features over 30 points of articulation, including a ball-jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. This allows for a wide range of poses, from dynamic action stances to more relaxed, characterful poses.
The joints are tight and hold their positions well, but they're not so stiff that they're difficult to move. The articulation is designed to work seamlessly with the figure's proportions, so you can pose Scrooge without any awkward gaps or visible joints. Whether you want him diving into a pile of gold or standing proudly with his cane, this figure can do it all.
- Over 30 points of articulation for dynamic posing
- Tight joints that hold poses well
- Articulation integrated smoothly into the design
Accessories and Extras
No Ultimate figure is complete without a generous set of accessories, and Scrooge McDuck comes with plenty. He includes his iconic top hat (which can be swapped for a bald head), a cane, a gold coin, a small bag of money, and a magnifying glass. There's also an alternate pair of hands for holding the accessories, and a display stand with the DuckTales logo.
The accessories are well-made and fit securely in the figure's hands. The gold coin and money bag are nice touches that add to the character's personality. The display stand is a welcome addition, as it helps keep the figure stable in dynamic poses. While the accessories are not as extensive as some other Ultimate figures, they are perfectly suited to Scrooge.
- Includes top hat, cane, gold coin, money bag, and magnifying glass
- Alternate hands for accessory holding
- Display stand with DuckTales logo
Comparison to Other NECA Figures
NECA has released many iconic characters in their Ultimate line, and Scrooge McDuck stands tall among them. Compared to other Disney-licensed figures like the Disney Haunted Mansion - Glow-in-the-Dark Hitchhiking Ghosts Head Knocker - Limited Edition of 300, which is a different type of collectible, Scrooge offers a more traditional action figure experience. His articulation and accessories put him on par with other Ultimate figures like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Archie Comics) - Krang/Shredder 7” Scale Action Figure, which also features multiple heads and accessories.

NECA has clearly put effort into making this figure the best possible version of Scrooge, and it shows.
