Quick Answer
Unfold the table, lock the side panels, and place it on a flat surface. The felt surface and sorting pads are ready to use with no extra tools.
Why Setup Is Simpler Than You Think
The Fold-and-Go Wooden Jigsaw Table is designed to go from folded storage to a working puzzle station in under a minute. Because the felt surface and sorting pads are built in, there is no need to attach separate mats or trays. The main thing to get right is locking the two metal-reinforced side panels so they sit flush and stable.
Where to Place the Table
The table works best on a sturdy, level surface such as a dining table or desk. Avoid carpeted floors or uneven tabletops, because the fold-out legs need solid contact to stay balanced. If you plan to move the table between rooms, keep a clear path so the side panels do not catch on door frames.
Setup Steps
- Unfold the Main Frame: Lay the folded table on a flat surface with the felt side facing up. Unlock the center latch and gently open the two halves until they lie flat. You will hear a click when the hinge locks into position. If the halves do not lie completely flat, check that the center latch is fully released.
- Lock the Side Panels: Pull each metal-reinforced side panel outward until it stops. Press down firmly on the panel to engage the locking mechanism. The panel should feel solid and not wobble when you tap it. A common mistake is not pressing the panel all the way down. If the panel wobbles, lift it slightly and push again until it clicks.
- Check the Felt Surface: Run your hand over the non-slip felt to make sure it is smooth and free of debris. If any dust or crumbs are present, wipe the felt gently with a dry lint-free cloth. Do not use water or cleaning sprays on the felt, as moisture can warp the pine wood frame.
- Position the Sorting Pads: The felt-covered plywood pads on the side panels are ready to use. Place loose pieces or small sections of your puzzle on these pads to keep them separate from the main assembly area. Avoid stacking pieces on the pads, as they may slide off when you move the table.
- Test Stability Before Puzzling: Gently push the table from each side to confirm it does not rock or shift. If it moves, adjust the surface underneath or re-check the side panel locks. An unstable table can cause pieces to scatter. Always verify stability before placing your puzzle.
