Quick Answer
The Space Battleship Yamato 3199 Deluxe Set 1/1000 is a new Bandai Hobby plastic model kit available for pre-order, shipping in late 2026. It's an excellent choice for fans of the series who want a detailed, large-scale build.
What Makes the Deluxe Set Special
This 1/1000 scale kit is part of the Space Battleship Yamato 3199 series and comes as a Deluxe Set, meaning it includes additional parts or accessories compared to a standard release. Bandai Hobby is known for precise engineering and snap-fit assembly, so you can expect a satisfying build without glue.
Because it's a pre-order item, the Japanese release is scheduled for October 2026, with US availability estimated 2-3 months later. Keep in mind that shipping dates can shift, and orders containing pre-order items will ship only when everything is in stock.
Pre-Order Considerations
Pre-ordering guarantees you a copy from the initial production run, but it requires patience. The US release window of November to December 2026 is an estimate, and delays can happen. If you combine this with other items, the entire order will wait until the Yamato arrives.
If you prefer to receive other items sooner, place a separate order for this kit. The catalog price of USD 109.48 (compared to USD 161.00) represents a notable discount off the reference price, making it a good value for a deluxe kit.
Decision Rules for the Yamato 3199 Deluxe Set
- Choose if you are a Yamato fan: If you love the Space Battleship Yamato series and want a detailed 1/1000 scale model, this Deluxe Set is a must-have for your collection.
- Pre-order only if you can wait: The kit ships in late 2026. If you need a model sooner, look for an in-stock alternative. Pre-ordering locks in the lower price but ties up your order. Consider placing a separate order if you want other items sooner.
- Expect a snap-fit build: Bandai Hobby kits typically require no glue or paint, though painting can enhance details. The Deluxe Set likely includes extra parts for added accuracy. Prepare basic tools like nippers and a hobby knife.
