Quick answer
Both tapes add personality to packages, but the Hot Dog design wins for playful, food-themed gifts, while String Lights is better for festive or holiday wrapping.
Design personality matters for the recipient
The Hot Dog tape brings a whimsical, food-centric vibe that's perfect for gag gifts, care packages for college students, or anyone who loves quirky humor. The String Lights design, on the other hand, evokes a cozy, celebratory feel that works year-round for birthdays, housewarmings, or holiday presents.
Neither design is inherently better — your choice depends on the message you want your package to send before it's even opened.
Both share the same practical features
Both tapes are part of the SPECIAL DELIVERY line, so they come with a built-in dispenser on a full-color, peggable card. That means you get easy one-handed application and a display-ready package if you're gifting the tape itself. The price difference is minimal — Hot Dog at $5.27 and String Lights at $5.36 — so cost isn't a deciding factor.
The real difference is purely aesthetic: which design sparks more joy for you and the recipient?
