Quick answer
The Deluxe Spirit Tokens replace the punchboard tokens in Spirited with a set of 60 acrylic pieces that are more durable, easier to handle, and visually clearer during play.
Why upgrade from the punchboard tokens?
The base game includes punchboard Spirit Tokens that work fine but can wear down after repeated play. The acrylic tokens are thicker and have a satisfying weight, making them easier to pick up and read across the table.
If you play Spirited frequently or host game nights, the upgrade reduces wear and tear and speeds up setup since you don't need to punch out tokens each session.
Frequently asked questions
Do the Deluxe Tokens change any game rules?
No. They are a cosmetic and durability upgrade only. The tokens match the original shapes and quantities, so all rules and gameplay remain identical.
Are the tokens compatible with the base game box?
Yes. The acrylic tokens are slightly thicker than the punchboard ones, but they fit into the same storage compartments without forcing the lid.
Is the upgrade worth the price?
If you play Spirited regularly or value tactile feel, the $15.25 price (down from $25.00) offers a noticeable improvement in handling and longevity. For occasional players, the punchboard tokens may suffice. Consider your play frequency before purchasing.
