Quick answer
The Star Realms Crisis: Fleets & Fortresses pack adds 12 new cards to your Star Realms deck-building game, including ships and bases like Border Fort and Star Fortress. It is a focused expansion, not a standalone game.
Myth: This pack is a standalone game
Some players assume any box with a title can be played on its own. The Crisis: Fleets & Fortresses pack is an expansion, not a standalone game. It contains only 12 cards and must be shuffled into the Star Realms Deckbuilding Game or the Colony Wars expansion to be playable.
Myth: It adds dozens of new cards
Another common belief is that an expansion pack should contain many cards. In reality, this pack includes exactly 12 cards: 1 Border Fort, 1 Capitol World, 2 Cargo Launches, 2 Custom Frigates, 1 Death World, 2 Patrol Bots, 2 Spike Pods, and 1 Star Fortress. Each card serves a specific role in the game.
Myth: Ships and bases are the same thing
The pack contains both ships and bases, but they are distinct card types in Star Realms. Ships provide one-time effects when played, while bases remain on the table to provide ongoing abilities and must be destroyed by your opponent. Knowing the difference is key to strategy.
