Quick Answer

If you want the broadest Star Trek experience, choose Star Trek Fluxx; if you're a Deep Space Nine fan or want a rare collector's item, grab the Deep Space Nine Fluxx demo copy while it lasts.

Theme and Setting

Star Trek Fluxx draws from the entire Star Trek universe, making it a versatile choice for fans of any series. Deep Space Nine Fluxx focuses specifically on the station and its characters, offering a more niche but deeply immersive experience for DS9 enthusiasts.

Your preference for the original series, The Next Generation, or Deep Space Nine will largely determine which edition feels more personal and engaging.

Availability and Value

Star Trek Fluxx is widely available and can be purchased anytime. Deep Space Nine Fluxx, however, is currently out of print, with a new print run arriving on 10/20/26. The only copies available now are demo copies with a bright pink sticker on the front, priced at $16.50 compared to the original $25.00.

If you want to secure a DS9 copy before the new run arrives, the demo copy is a budget-friendly way to own the same game at a discount. But if you prefer a pristine box without a demo sticker, you may want to wait for the restock.

Trade-Offs at a Glance

  • Theme breadth vs. depth: Star Trek Fluxx covers the whole franchise; Deep Space Nine Fluxx focuses on one series. Pick breadth for variety, depth for DS9 loyalty.
  • Availability vs. patience: DS9 is scarce now; demo copies are available but stickered. New print run lands 10/20/26 if you can wait for a clean box. Set a calendar reminder for the restock if you prefer a non-demo copy.
  • Price vs. condition: Demo copy costs $16.50 vs. $25.00 regular price. You save money but accept the sticker. If the discount matters more than packaging, buy now; otherwise wait.
