Quick Answer

Super7 Peanuts ReAction figures are 3.75-inch retro-style figures with limited articulation, while ULTIMATES! figures are 7-inch highly articulated premium collectibles. Choose Peanuts for nostalgic display and lower price; choose ULTIMATES! for posability and screen-accurate detail.

Scale and Articulation: Two Different Approaches

Super7's Peanuts ReAction figures, like the Joe Cool figure, stand at 3.75 inches and feature the classic 5-point articulation that mimics the look and feel of 1980s action figures. This style prioritizes a clean, retro silhouette over dynamic posing. In contrast, ULTIMATES! figures, such as the Beastie Boys Alasondro Alegré (Sabotage), are 7-inch scale with extensive articulation—multiple joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles—allowing for expressive action poses.

The trade-off is clear: ReAction figures are best for collectors who value vintage aesthetics and simple shelf presence, while ULTIMATES! figures suit those who want to recreate scenes or enjoy hands-on posing. Neither is objectively better; your choice depends on whether you prefer a nostalgic display or a highly interactive figure.

Price and Value: Budget vs Premium

Price is a major differentiator. A Peanuts ReAction figure like Joe Cool costs around $18.50 (down from a $25.00 catalog price), making it an affordable entry point for fans of the comic strip. ULTIMATES! figures, such as the Beastie Boys Alasondro Alegré, are priced at $36.85 (from $55.00), reflecting the larger scale, more complex tooling, and premium paint detailing.

If you're building a collection on a budget or want to pick up multiple characters, ReAction figures offer better value per piece. If you're willing to invest more for a centerpiece figure with higher detail and articulation, ULTIMATES! justifies the higher price.

Design Philosophy: Retro Charm vs Screen Accuracy

Peanuts ReAction figures embrace a simplified, cartoonish look that echoes the original Charles Schulz comic strip. The Joe Cool figure, for example, features a red sweater with "Joe Cool" printed across it and sunglasses—a straightforward, charming representation. ULTIMATES! figures aim for premium screen accuracy, as seen in the Beastie Boys figure inspired by the "Sabotage" music video, with intricate sculpt and detailed paint applications.

This difference extends to accessories. ReAction figures typically include one or two simple items—Joe Cool comes with a pizza slice and Frisbee. ULTIMATES! figures often include multiple accessories and interchangeable parts, adding to the play and display value.
