Quick answer
Yes, Open Farm's Surf & Turf Kitty Cube Treats are worth it for cat owners who prioritize high-quality, single-ingredient protein treats with added health benefits like omega fatty acids and probiotics.
Why freeze-dried raw matters
Freeze-drying preserves more natural nutrients and flavor compared to traditional baking or extrusion. For cats, who are obligate carnivores, this means the protein and amino acids stay intact, making the treat both more palatable and more nutritious.
Trade-off: Price vs. value
At a catalog price of $5.59 (compared to $7.99), these treats are more expensive than standard cat treats. However, the use of Ocean Wise wild-caught fish and humanely-raised beef, plus added probiotics and omega fatty acids, justifies the cost for health-focused pet parents.
Frequently asked questions
What are the main ingredients in Surf & Turf Kitty Cube Treats?
They feature Ocean Wise recommended, wild-caught fish and humanely-raised beef as the primary protein sources, along with omega fatty acids and probiotics.
Are these treats suitable for cats with food sensitivities?
Because they are single-ingredient protein treats (fish and beef) with no artificial fillers, they are a good option for cats with common sensitivities. However, always introduce new treats gradually and consult your vet if your cat has known allergies. Start with a small piece to test tolerance.
How should I store freeze-dried raw treats?
Store them in a cool, dry place in the original resealable bag or an airtight container. Freeze-dried treats are shelf-stable but can absorb moisture, which may affect texture and freshness. Keep the bag sealed tight after each use.
