Quick Answer
To keep your Expedition 60 Tank Top looking sharp, wash it inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle, air dry it, and avoid high heat and harsh detergents.
Why Tank Tops Need Extra Care
Tank tops are often made with lighter fabrics that can be more delicate than heavier tees. The Expedition 60 Tank Top features a bold illustrated print that deserves the same protection you'd give any graphic garment.
Heat and friction are the main enemies of printed apparel. Over time, washing in hot water or drying on high heat can cause cracks and fading, while rough washing can cause pilling on the fabric itself.
Diagnose and Fix Common Tank Top Care Issues
- Symptom: Fading colors after a few washes: Likely cause: washing in hot water or using harsh detergents. Corrective action: switch to cold water and a mild detergent, and turn the tank top inside out before washing to protect the print. Check the care label for the recommended water temperature and follow it strictly.
- Symptom: Print cracking or peeling: Likely cause: high heat from dryer or iron. Corrective action: air dry the tank top flat or on a hanger, and never iron directly on the print. If you must iron, use a low-heat setting with a cloth barrier. If the print is already cracked, stop using heat entirely and consider hand washing only.
- Symptom: Fabric pilling or stretching: Likely cause: rough washing cycle or overloading the washer. Corrective action: use a gentle cycle with similar colors, and avoid overloading the machine to reduce friction. For extra protection, place the tank top in a mesh laundry bag. If pilling is severe, it may be time to replace the tank top; no care routine can fully restore worn fabric.
