Quick Answer

For most families, the choice comes down to theme: pick Spaceship for imaginative space adventures, or Kitty for animal-loving kids. Both sets are identical in size, shape, and compatibility, so your decision is purely about which story your child will enjoy most.

Same Blocks, Different Story

Both Tegu Travel Pals sets include 6 blocks: 4 triangular prisms and 2 parallelograms. They are fully compatible with all other Tegu Magnetic Wooden Blocks, so you can mix and match with larger sets at home. The only difference is the theme printed on the wood: a spaceship for cosmic adventurers or a kitty for animal fans.

Because the blocks are identical in shape and function, the trade-off is purely aesthetic. If your child is obsessed with space, the Spaceship set will spark more creative play. If they love animals, the Kitty set will feel more personal. There's no wrong choice, but choosing the theme that resonates most will encourage longer, more engaged play sessions.

Portability and Compatibility

Both sets are designed for travel: in the car, on the plane, or at a restaurant. Their compact size makes them easy to pick up and take anywhere. The magnetic blocks stick together, so pieces stay contained during transit, reducing the chance of losing them.

Since both sets are compatible with all other Tegu blocks, you can expand the play possibilities by combining them with a larger set at home. This means you're not locked into just one theme—you can build a spaceship with a kitty crew if you want!

How to Choose

  • Theme Preference: Ask your child which theme excites them more: space adventures or animal friends. The set that sparks their imagination will get more playtime. If they can't decide, consider buying both—they're fully compatible and can be combined.
  • Gift Giving: If the set is a gift, think about the recipient's interests. Spaceship suits kids who love rockets and planets; Kitty suits those who adore pets and animals. Check if the child already has other Tegu sets—either Travel Pals will expand their collection seamlessly.
  • Price and Value: Both sets are priced at USD 19.60, so there's no cost difference. You're paying for the theme, not the function. Since the price is identical, choose based on the child's personality rather than value.
