Quick answer
For a display that captures two iconic scenes from a beloved sci-fi series, The X-Files LEGO set stands out among TV-themed builds. But whether it's the right choice depends on your nostalgia and building preferences.
What makes The X-Files LEGO set unique
Unlike many TV-themed LEGO sets that recreate a single location, The X-Files set packs two memorable scenes into one build. This dual-scene design lets you choose which moment to display or swap between them, adding variety to your shelf.
The set is designed as a special release, which often means a more niche appeal compared to mainstream licensed sets. If you're a fan of the show's moody atmosphere and conspiracy themes, this set delivers that vibe in brick form.
How it compares to other TV-themed builds
Most TV-themed LEGO sets focus on a single iconic room or vehicle from a show. For example, sets based on sitcoms or dramas typically recreate a living room or office. The X-Files set breaks that mold by offering two distinct scenes, giving you more storytelling potential.
However, this dual-scene approach means each scene is smaller than a dedicated single-scene set. If you prefer a larger, more detailed recreation of one location, a single-scene TV build might feel more satisfying.
Tradeoffs at a glance
- The X-Files LEGO set: Dual-scene design lets you display two iconic moments from the show. Special release with a niche appeal. Great for collectors who want variety in a single set.
- Single-scene TV-themed builds: Focus on one detailed location or vehicle, often larger and more immersive for that specific scene. Better if you prefer a larger, more detailed recreation of a single moment.
- Other licensed pop culture sets: Broader appeal with characters and settings from widely recognized franchises. Often include minifigures of popular characters. Consider if you want a set that resonates with a wider audience or includes recognizable characters.
