Howard's stories, capturing the raw youth of Conan and the tragic alien Yag-Kosha with stunning detail.

But is this 2-pack worth adding to your collection? In this review, we'll break down the packaging, sculpt, articulation, accessories, and overall value, helping you decide if this Conan collectible set deserves a spot on your shelf.
Unboxing and Packaging: A Window Into the Past
The first thing you'll notice is the window-boxed packaging, a design choice that instantly appeals to collectors who prefer to display their figures in-box. The front showcases both figures prominently, with vibrant artwork that evokes the pulp magazine covers of the 1930s. The back features a brief synopsis of the 'Tower of the Elephant' story, adding a nice narrative touch that contextualizes the set.
Inside, the figures are securely nestled in a clear plastic tray, protecting them from damage during shipping. The packaging is collector-friendly, allowing for easy removal and re-display without damaging the box. For those who keep figures boxed, this set will look great on any wall or shelf.
- Window-boxed design ideal for in-box display
- Secure tray protects figures during transit
- Back panel includes story synopsis for added context
Sculpt and Paint: A Masterclass in Detail
Boss Fight Studio has earned a reputation for exceptional sculpting, and this 2-pack raises the bar. Young Conan is depicted with a lean, athletic build, capturing the character's youth and raw potential. The face sculpt is particularly impressive, with a determined expression and detailed hair that looks windblown from his adventures. The paint application is clean, with subtle shading on the muscles and realistic skin tones that add depth.
Yag-Kosha, the alien being from the story, is a stark contrast. Standing taller than Conan, this figure features an intricate, otherworldly design. The sculpt includes multiple eyes, tentacle-like appendages, and a hauntingly beautiful face that reflects the character's tragic nature. The paint work on Yag-Kosha is equally impressive, with a pearlescent sheen that gives the figure an ethereal quality. Both figures are a testament to Boss Fight's commitment to quality.
Articulation and Posability: Bringing the Story to Life
As part of the Epic H.A.C.K.S. line, these figures feature the highly articulated H.A.C.K.S. body system. Young Conan boasts over 30 points of articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. Whether you want to recreate a battle stance or a contemplative pose, the joints hold their position well, and the range of motion is impressive for a 1:12 scale figure.
Yag-Kosha, while not as articulated as Conan due to his non-standard anatomy, still offers enough movement in his arms and head to convey his alien nature. The tentacles are sculpted in a way that allows for some repositioning, though they are not fully articulated. For display purposes, this is more than sufficient, and the figure's presence alone makes up for the limited posability.
Accessories and Extras: What's in the Box?
A 2-pack should offer more than just two figures, and this set delivers. Young Conan comes with his iconic sword, a dagger, and a shield, all with detailed sculpts that match the figure's quality. The sword fits securely in his hand, and the shield can be strapped to his arm, adding to the display options.
Yag-Kosha includes a removable heart, a key element from the story, which can be held in his hands or displayed separately. There are also two alternate heads for Conan, one with a fierce battle cry and another with a more neutral expression, allowing for customization. These extras add significant value and enhance the storytelling potential of the set.
Value for Money: Is It Worth the Price?
When considering a Conan collectible set, price is always a factor. This 2-pack is priced competitively, especially when you consider the quality of the figures and the accessories included. Compared to buying two individual figures, this set offers a discount and the convenience of having a matching pair that tells a cohesive story.
For fans of the Epic H.A.C.K.S. line, this set is a must-have. It also pairs well with other figures from Boss Fight Studio, such as the Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. Action Figure Blank - Male Body for customizing or the Court of the Dead Action Figure: Gallevarbe – Eyes of the Queen for a dark fantasy display. The Tower of the Elephant 2-Pack is a solid investment for both new collectors and veterans.
- Competitive pricing for a 2-pack
- Exclusive accessories not available elsewhere
- High resale potential due to popularity of the characters
Display Ideas: Showcasing Your New Set
Once you've added this set to your collection, you'll want to display it in a way that does it justice. One idea is to create a diorama using the Series Z Extreme Sets Diorama (action figures sold separately), which can provide a dramatic backdrop for the Tower of the Elephant scene. The diorama's detailed architecture will enhance the figures' presence.
Alternatively, you can pose Young Conan in a dynamic action pose, sword raised, while Yag-Kosha stands behind him, creating a sense of tension. For a more narrative approach, place the heart in Yag-Kosha's hands, recreating the story's emotional climax. The possibilities are endless, and this set is versatile enough to fit into any display.
In conclusion, the Epic H.A.C.K.S. Conan the Barbarian | The Tower of the Elephant 2-Pack: Young Conan and Yag-Kosha is a fantastic addition to any action figure collection. With its exceptional sculpt, paint, articulation, and accessories, it offers great value for the price.
