Quick answer

Choose Trojan Magnum XL if you need a larger condom fit for comfort and security. Choose Trojan Ultra Ribbed if standard fit works and you want added texture for partner pleasure.

Size vs Sensation: The Core Trade-Off

The main difference between these two Trojans is their design purpose. Magnum XL prioritizes extra room for girth, while Ultra Ribbed focuses on texture to enhance sensation. Your choice depends on whether fit or ribbed stimulation matters more to you.

When Fit Matters Most

If standard condoms feel tight or uncomfortable, a larger condom like Magnum XL can improve both safety and enjoyment. A snug fit can cause breakage or reduce sensitivity, so sizing up may solve those issues. Ultra Ribbed condoms are not designed for a larger fit, so they won't help if tightness is your problem.

When Texture Adds Value

Ribbed condoms like Trojan Ultra Ribbed are designed to increase friction and stimulation for the receiving partner. If your partner enjoys extra sensation, the ribs can make a noticeable difference. Magnum XL condoms are smooth and focus on fit, not texture.

Trade-offs at a glance

  • Trojan Magnum XL: Best for users who need a larger condom fit. Provides extra girth and length for comfort and security. If standard condoms feel tight, this is your better option.
  • Trojan Ultra Ribbed: Best for partners who want added texture. The ribs provide extra stimulation, but the fit is standard. If fit is fine but you want more sensation, choose this.
  • Compromise option: If you need both larger fit and ribbed texture, consider trying a ribbed condom in a larger size from another brand. No single Trojan condom offers both features currently.
