Quick answer
The Unstable Unicorns Diamond Edition is a deluxe version of the popular base game, featuring four exclusive Diamond Unicorns with powerful effects, foil-detailed box art, a sparkle core D4 die, and four holographic collector's cards.
Why choose the Diamond Edition over the standard base game?
The Diamond Edition adds a layer of prestige and collectibility to the classic Unstable Unicorns experience. If you already own the standard base game, you're mainly paying for the upgraded components and exclusive cards rather than new core gameplay mechanics. The four Diamond Unicorns introduce fresh strategic options, but the core betrayal and army-building rules remain the same.
What you don't get with the Diamond Edition
This is still a base game, not an expansion. It does not include any expansion packs or additional player counts beyond the standard 2-8 players. The box contains everything you need to play, but if you're looking for more variety or higher player counts, you'll need to pick up expansions separately.
How to decide if the Diamond Edition is right for you
- You love collecting special editions: If you enjoy foil packaging, holographic cards, and exclusive dice, the Diamond Edition delivers a premium unboxing experience that the standard base game lacks.
- You want the most powerful unicorns: The four Diamond Unicorns have effects that are generally stronger than typical unicorn cards, giving you a competitive edge if you play frequently. These cards are exclusive to this edition and not available in expansions.
- You're on a tight budget: At a catalog price of $15.00 (compared to $20.00), the Diamond Edition actually costs less than the standard base game's original price, making it a better value if you don't already own Unstable Unicorns. Check current pricing as sales may vary.
