Quick answer
Choose the Basket Cover to protect your shopping or diaper bag from rain and prying eyes. Choose the Toddler Seat Rainshield to keep your child dry and comfortable in wet weather. They serve different parts of the stroller, so the right pick depends on what you need to shield.
What each accessory does
The UPPAbaby CRUZ V3 Basket Cover fits over the stroller’s under-seat storage basket. It keeps your belongings secure and dry, with dual flip openings for easy access. The Toddler Seat Rainshield, on the other hand, covers the seat area, protecting your child from wind and rain while offering clear visibility and ventilation.
Key difference: what you’re protecting
The fundamental difference is what each product shields. The Basket Cover is for your gear — shopping bags, nappies, or a change of clothes. The Rainshield is for your child. If you often walk in drizzle, you may need both. But if you only face occasional showers, one might be enough.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Basket Cover trade-off: Water-resistant material keeps basket contents dry, but it does not cover the seat. If rain hits the seat area, your child stays exposed.
- Rainshield trade-off: Full weather protection for your toddler with clear visibility and ventilation, but it does not protect items in the basket below.
- Using both together: You can attach both accessories to the same stroller. The Basket Cover attaches to the basket and the Rainshield to the seat, with no interference. This gives complete rain protection for both child and cargo. If you walk in all weathers, consider buying both for full coverage.
