Quick Answer
Warmies plush toys are soft stuffed animals filled with natural grains and lavender, designed to be gently warmed in a microwave for comforting heat.
How Do Warmies Work?
Each Warmies plush contains a pouch of natural grains (like millet or flaxseed) and dried French lavender. When microwaved briefly, the grains retain heat and release a calming lavender scent. The warmth lasts for about 30–60 minutes, making them ideal for bedtime or relaxation.
Are Warmies Safe for Children?
Yes, when used as directed. Warmies are not electric; they are heated in a microwave. The instructions recommend heating for short intervals (typically 30–60 seconds) and always testing the temperature before giving to a child. The plush cover is removable and machine-washable, which helps with hygiene.
What to Consider Before Buying
Warmies are not intended for infants or very young toddlers due to the heating element and small parts. They are best for children aged 3+ who understand not to open the pouch. Also, the lavender scent may be too strong for some sensitive noses.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you microwave a Warmies plush?
Heat for 30 seconds on high, then check the temperature. If more warmth is needed, heat in additional 10-second increments. Never exceed 60 seconds total.
Can the plush cover be washed?
Yes. Remove the inner grain pouch (if possible) and machine wash the outer plush on a gentle cycle. Air dry or tumble dry on low. Do not microwave the grain pouch when wet.
What age is appropriate for Warmies?
Warmies are recommended for ages 3 and up. The grain pouch is not a toy and should not be opened. Always supervise young children during heating and use. Always test the temperature on your wrist before giving a warmed plush to a child.
