Quick answer
Choose the Wooden Trailer Truck Set if your child loves imaginative delivery play with loading and unloading. Choose the London Toy Car Set if they prefer a diverse fleet of iconic city vehicles for storytelling.
Play style matters most
The Wooden Trailer Truck Set focuses on a single, repeatable play pattern: loading, driving, and unloading. The removable trailers turn each truck into an interactive puzzle. This set suits children who enjoy process-oriented, hands-on activities.
The London Toy Car Set offers variety. Seven different vehicles—from a double decker bus to a fire engine—let children create city scenes and switch between roles. It works well for kids who like to build narratives around multiple characters and settings.
Material and safety
Both sets are made from sustainable FSC®-certified wood, meeting Le Toy Van's ethical standards. The London Car Set is explicitly labeled as crafted from this certified wood, while the Trailer Truck Set uses the same high-quality materials typical of the brand. Neither set contains small plastic parts, reducing choking hazards.
The trade-off is durability versus detail. The solid wood construction of both sets withstands rough play, but the London set's smaller vehicles (like the taxi) may be easier to lose under furniture compared to the larger trailer trucks.
Trade-offs to consider
- Number of vehicles: The Wooden Trailer Truck Set has 3 trucks with trailers. The London Car Set has 7 vehicles. More vehicles mean more variety but also more pieces to keep track of.
- Play pattern: Trailer Truck Set: focused, repetitive loading/unloading play. London Car Set: diverse, narrative-driven play with multiple roles. Match the play pattern to your child's natural preferences.
- Size and storage: Trailer trucks are larger and chunkier, easier for small hands to grip. London vehicles are smaller and more detailed, fitting better into compact storage but easier to misplace.
