Quick answer
If you own a Zen cat cave, the Cushion (For Zen) is the exact fit, but the Cushion (Choose Color) offers more color flexibility for a lower price if it's compatible with your Mau product. Check compatibility before buying.
Why fit matters more than color
A cushion that doesn't fit properly can slide around, bunch up, or leave gaps, making your cat less likely to use it. Both cushions are designed for Mau products, but the Cushion (For Zen) is specifically made for the Zen side table, while the Cushion (Choose Color) is compatible with a range of trees and caves. This means the right choice depends on your Mau model, not just the color you like.
Price vs. customization
The Cushion (For Zen) is priced at $21.75 (compare at $29.00), while the Cushion (Choose Color) is $16.56 (compare at $24.00). The Choose Color cushion is more affordable and lets you pick a custom color to match your decor, but only if your Mau product is on its compatibility list. The Zen cushion is a dedicated fit but may offer fewer color choices since it's tied to the Zen design.
Trade-offs to consider
- Exact fit vs. flexibility: If you have a Zen, the Cushion (For Zen) guarantees a perfect fit. If you have another compatible Mau product, the Cushion (Choose Color) offers more color options but requires checking compatibility. Check your Mau model against the compatibility list before choosing.
- Price and color choice: The Choose Color cushion is cheaper ($16.56 vs. $21.75) and allows custom colors, but the Zen cushion may have limited color options tied to its design. If budget and color variety matter more than a dedicated fit, Choose Color may be better.
- Design harmony: The Zen cushion is part of the Zen's sculptural aesthetic, which may appeal if you value the designer look. The Choose Color cushion is more utilitarian but can blend with your existing decor. Consider whether the cushion's look matters as much as its function.
