Quick answer
If you want a playful, dance-ready single LP from a beloved special, pick the BMO's Mixtape vinyl. If you prefer a full narrative soundtrack that captures the emotional depth of the series, the Fionna and Cake 2xLP is your choice.
Why the pressing matters for your collection
Adventure Time vinyl soundtracks are more than just music—they're artifacts of the show's unique humor and heart. The pressing you choose affects not only the listening experience but also how the album fits into your broader collection of game and animation soundtracks.
Both releases come from the same universe but serve different moods. The BMO's Mixtape is a curated dance mix by Gilligan Moss, while the Fionna and Cake soundtrack follows the emotional arc of the animated series. Your choice depends on whether you value a party playlist or a story-driven listen.
How to decide: your pressing decision rules
- Single LP vs. 2xLP: The BMO's Mixtape is a single LP with a continuous mix—great for quick spins. The Fionna and Cake soundtrack is a 2xLP, offering more music and a broader emotional range. If you want a longer listening session, go with the 2xLP.
- Mood and tone: BMO's Mixtape is upbeat and silly, perfect for parties or background fun. Fionna and Cake leans into emotional highs and lows, ideal for focused listening. Choose BMO for energy; choose Fionna and Cake for depth.
- Collectibility and release timing: The BMO's Mixtape vinyl ships in Q1 2027, so it's a pre-order. The Fionna and Cake soundtrack is available now. Both are limited-run pressings from a niche label. If you want it sooner, pick Fionna and Cake. If you can wait, BMO's Mixtape is a unique addition.
