Quick Answer

Apply the AeroTech HV Arcas Decal Sheet by cleaning the surface, soaking the decal in warm water, sliding it into position, and sealing it with a clear coat.

Why Apply the Decal Sheet?

The AeroTech HV Arcas Decal Sheet (product code 18012) is the same self-adhesive decal included with the Enerjet by AeroTech HV Arcas rocket kit. It adds authentic scale details that transform your model from plain to professional.

While self-adhesive decals are easy to use, they can be unforgiving if applied to a dusty or oily surface. A little preparation goes a long way toward avoiding bubbles and peeling.

Step-by-Step Decal Application

  1. Prepare the Surface: Clean the rocket body tube with a mild detergent and water to remove dust and oils. Let it dry completely. A clean surface prevents bubbles and peeling.
  2. Cut Out the Decal: Using sharp scissors or a hobby knife, cut the desired decal from the sheet, leaving a small margin of clear film around the design. Avoid cutting into the printed area to prevent lifting.
  3. Soak in Warm Water: Place the decal in a dish of warm water for 15–30 seconds until it slides freely on its backing paper. Do not oversoak; the decal may lose adhesion.
  4. Position on the Rocket: Slide the decal off the backing paper onto the rocket. Use a wet finger or tweezers to adjust its position while still wet. Work quickly; the decal sets as it dries.
  5. Squeegee Out Air and Water: Gently press a soft cloth or squeegee from the center outward to remove trapped air and water. Rubbing too hard can tear the decal.
  6. Seal with Clear Coat: After the decal dries (24 hours), apply a thin layer of clear acrylic spray to protect it from handling and weather. Use multiple light coats rather than one heavy coat to avoid runs.
