All Might, the Symbol of Peace, has inspired countless fans of My Hero Academia. When it comes to action figures, few lines capture his dynamic presence like the Amazing Yamaguchi (Revoltech) series. With the Amazing Yamaguchi All Might, also known as Amazing Yamaguchi 019, collectors get a figure that promises both posability and character. In this review, we'll dive deep into the figure's articulation, accessories, and overall value to determine if it truly is the ultimate My Hero Academia figure.
The Amazing Yamaguchi line, produced by Kaiyodo, is renowned for its extreme articulation and stylized interpretations. All Might is a perfect candidate for this treatment, as his muscular build and heroic poses translate well into the Revoltech articulation system. But does this figure live up to the hype? Let's find out.
Packaging and First Impressions
The Amazing Yamaguchi All Might comes in a window box that showcases the figure in a dynamic pose. The packaging is collector-friendly, with a clear view of the figure and its accessories. Inside, you'll find the figure, multiple pairs of hands, effect parts, and a display stand. The first thing you notice is the sculpt: All Might's muscular physique is well-defined, with sharp lines and a heroic stance that captures his personality.
The paint application is clean, with the iconic red, blue, and gold colors faithfully reproduced. The face plates are particularly impressive, offering three different expressions: a confident smile, a serious battle face, and a laughing expression that is perfect for recreating his 'I am here' moments. The overall quality is high, as expected from the Amazing Yamaguchi line.
Articulation: The Revoltech Magic
Articulation is where the Amazing Yamaguchi series shines, and All Might is no exception. The figure features over 30 points of articulation, including the signature Revoltech joints that allow for a wide range of motion. The shoulders and hips use ratcheting joints that hold poses firmly, while the torso has a ball joint that enables impressive crunch and twist movements.
The knees and elbows are double-jointed, allowing for deep bends. The ankles have a good range for dynamic stances. The figure can achieve classic All Might poses, from his iconic punch to his triumphant laugh. However, the stylized proportions might not appeal to everyone, as the exaggerated muscles and slim waist are a departure from the anime's design. But for those who love action poses, this is a dream.
- Use the included display stand to achieve flying poses without worrying about balance.
- The ratcheting joints are sturdy, but avoid forcing them beyond their limit to prevent damage.
Accessories and Extras
The Amazing Yamaguchi All Might comes with a generous set of accessories. You get three interchangeable face plates, multiple hands (including fists, open palms, and pointing hands), and a set of effect parts that resemble wind or air pressure, perfect for recreating his Detroit Smash attack. There's also a display stand with a flexible arm to hold the figure in mid-air poses.
One of the standout accessories is the 'smile' face plate, which is incredibly expressive. The effect parts are well-made and attach easily to the hands, adding a dynamic flair to your display. The stand is sturdy and allows for a variety of flight poses. While some collectors might wish for more accessories, what's included is more than sufficient for most display needs.
Comparison with Other My Hero Academia Figures
When considering the Amazing Yamaguchi All Might, it's natural to compare it with other figures in the same scale. The S.H. Figuarts line also offers My Hero Academia figures, but they tend to have a more anime-accurate look with less extreme articulation. The Amazing Yamaguchi, on the other hand, prioritizes poseability and stylized action, which can be a deciding factor for collectors who value dynamic display.
Another comparison is with the MAFEX line, which offers figures like the Avengers: Infinity War MAFEX No.122 Captain America. While MAFEX figures are known for their detailed sculpt and accessories, they often lack the extreme articulation of the Amazing Yamaguchi. For All Might, the Amazing Yamaguchi version is arguably the best for action poses, making it a unique addition to any collection.

Value and Collectibility
Priced in the mid-range for import figures, the Amazing Yamaguchi All Might offers good value for the quality and articulation. Collectors who are fans of My Hero Academia will find it a worthy centerpiece. The figure is also part of the broader Amazing Yamaguchi line, which includes other characters, so it's a great starting point for those new to the series.
In terms of collectibility, All Might is a popular character, and this figure is likely to hold its value. If you're looking to expand your collection, consider adding other figures from the same line or even other MHA figures like the S.H. Figuarts Vegeta from Dragon Ball Super, which offers a different but equally enjoyable experience. For now, the Amazing Yamaguchi All Might stands out as a must-have for fans.
The Amazing Yamaguchi All Might is a fantastic figure that delivers on articulation, accessories, and overall fun. While it may not have the most anime-accurate look, its dynamic poseability and expressive face plates make it a standout in any collection.
