Quick answer
The Battlefields Basing Set includes a variety of basing materials and a free 50ml Battlefields Basing Glue, but it does not come with pre-made plastic bases. Instead, it provides everything you need to texture and finish any miniature base yourself.
What the set actually contains
The Battlefields Basing Set is designed as a one-box solution for adding texture and detail to your miniature bases. It includes multiple types of basing materials—such as gravel, sand, and static grass—along with the glue to attach them. The set does not include plastic base slottas or round bases; you will need to supply those separately from your miniatures or a separate base pack.
Trade-off: convenience vs. customization
This set is excellent for beginners or painters who want a quick, consistent basing solution without buying multiple small containers. However, if you need a very specific terrain look (e.g., snow, desert, or urban rubble) or if you prefer to mix your own materials, you might find the included assortment too generic. The set works best for standard outdoor battlefield bases.
Decision rules for the Battlefields Basing Set
- Who should buy this set: If you are new to miniature basing or want a single purchase that covers multiple terrain types (grass, gravel, dirt), this set saves time and money compared to buying each material separately.
- Who should skip this set: If you already own a collection of basing materials or need a specialized theme (e.g., arctic, lava, or urban), the set's general-purpose mix may not match your vision. You would be better off selecting individual basing products.
- What bases are NOT included: The set does not contain plastic base slottas, round bases, or any pre-formed base shapes. You must have your own miniatures or blank bases ready to apply the materials. Check that you have bases to attach before buying.
