Quick answer
An 18L camera backpack fits one mirrorless or DSLR body with 2–4 lenses plus personal items, but the WANDRD Stratus and Tenba Axis V2 LT differ in organization and laptop capacity.
18L vs. 20L: Real-world capacity difference
The WANDRD Stratus is exactly 18L, while the Tenba Axis V2 LT is listed at 20L. That extra 2L in the Tenba translates to slightly more room for a water bottle or an extra lens pouch, but the difference is modest. Both bags remain compact enough for urban carry or as a personal item on flights.
Laptop and tablet storage
If you need to carry a 16" laptop, the Tenba Axis V2 LT has a dedicated padded sleeve that fits one. The WANDRD Stratus 18L does not include a laptop compartment in the Standard configuration, so it’s better suited for camera-only outings or pairing with a separate laptop bag.
Decision rules for an 18L camera backpack
- Gear volume: Count your typical carry: one body plus 2–3 lenses fits easily; 4+ lenses or a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens attached may require the 20L Tenba. List your heaviest lens before choosing.
- Laptop need: If you carry a 16" laptop daily, choose the Tenba Axis V2 LT. If you never bring a laptop, the WANDRD Stratus saves weight and bulk.
- Organization style: The Tenba uses a convertible top daypack section for quick access to personal items. The WANDRD Stratus has a simpler main compartment—better if you prefer minimal dividers. Test the divider layout in person if possible.
