Quick answer

The Hickory Crawdads 2026 Carolina League Prospect Set is a 24-card, officially licensed release with two cards for each Carolina League team. The Crawdads are represented by right-handed pitcher AJ Russell and infielder Yolfran Castillo, so those two cards are the ones to watch first. At $11.25, it's a low-risk pickup for fans who want a snapshot of the league's current prospects.

What the 24-card checklist actually covers

The set is built around league-wide coverage rather than a single team. With 24 total cards and two per Carolina League team, every club gets equal space, so you're buying a cross-section of the league, not a Crawdads-only team set. That structure matters if you collect for the full Carolina League or want cards to trade with fans of other affiliates.

  • 24 cards total
  • 2 cards per Carolina League team
  • Crawdads players featured: RHP AJ Russell and infielder Yolfran Castillo
  • Officially licensed product

Who to watch in a Crawdads uniform

The two named Crawdads in the set are RHP AJ Russell and infielder Yolfran Castillo. If you're deciding which cards to keep or trade, start with those two because they're the only Crawdads-specific cards in the checklist. The Hickory Crawdads are a Minor League affiliate of the MLB Texas Rangers, which gives the set a clear organizational tie for Rangers fans tracking lower-level talent.

How to store and display the set without damage

Because this is a 24-card set rather than a single card, storage is the main practical decision. Keep the cards in penny sleeves or a binder with acid-free pages, and avoid rubber bands or tight boxes that press on corners. If you want to show the two Crawdads cards, a two-card display frame keeps them visible without exposing the rest of the set to light and dust.

Pairing the set with a tee for game day

If you're buying the set as a gift or adding it to a game-day outfit, the Crawdads have a couple of cotton tee options that match the team's look. The White Carolina League Teams Cotton Tee is a 5.3 oz. pre-shrunk cotton crew neck from Bimm Ridder, and the Dark Gray Banner Ring Spun Tee is a ring spun cotton tee from GoTeez. Both are officially licensed, so you can wear the team while you sort the cards.
