Quick answer
Assemble your Vintage Play Kitchen by organizing parts, attaching legs and side panels, installing the back panel, then adding the countertop, sink, burners, and accessories. Take your time to avoid misaligning screw holes.
Before you start: What to expect
The Vintage Play Kitchen comes with natural wood accents and a butcher-block style countertop. The hardware kit includes small screws and wooden dowels. Assembly typically takes 45–60 minutes for one adult. You will need a Phillips-head screwdriver (not included).
A common frustration is confusing left and right panels because the wood grain can look similar. Mark each panel with a pencil as you unpack them to save time later.
Assembly steps
- 1. Unpack and sort all parts: Lay out all wooden panels, hardware bags, and accessories on a clean, flat surface. Use the included parts list to identify each piece. Group screws by size in a muffin tin or small cups. Common mistake: mixing up left and right side panels. Mark them with a sticker or pencil as you identify them.
- 2. Attach the legs to the side panels: Align the pre-drilled holes on each leg with the holes on the bottom of the side panels. Insert the screws and tighten them partially, then fully tighten once both legs are attached. Do not overtighten or the wood may split. Check that the legs are flush with the panel edge before tightening completely.
- 3. Connect the side panels to the back panel: With the legs facing outward, position the back panel between the two side panels. Insert the wooden dowels into the matching holes, then secure with screws. Use a level to ensure the frame is square before moving on. If the frame wobbles, loosen the screws slightly, adjust the panels, and retighten.
- 4. Install the countertop and shelf: Place the butcher-block style countertop on top of the side panels, aligning the pre-drilled holes. Screw it in place from underneath. Then attach the upper shelf using the provided brackets. Make sure the shelf is level. Common mistake: forgetting to feed the faucet hole through the countertop before screwing it down. Do this step first.
- 5. Add the sink, burners, and accessories: Snap the round sink and square dual burners into the countertop cutouts. Attach the golden faucet and handles with the small screws. Hang the hooks on the back panel and place the utensil set and cookware on the hooks and shelf. Test that the faucet and handles turn freely before finalizing the screws.
- 6. Final check and safety review: Tighten all screws one more time. Check that no sharp edges or loose parts remain. Ensure the kitchen stands firmly on the floor without rocking. Wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth to remove any dust from assembly. If the kitchen rocks, adjust the leg levelers (if included) or place a thin shim under the low leg.
