Quick answer

Assembling your bottle sip kit takes under a minute: slide the silicone sleeve onto your glass bottle, insert the straw, and snap on the straw cap. Here’s how to do it right the first time.

Why a sip kit instead of a standard cap?

A bottle sip kit replaces the original cap with a straw and a straw cap, letting you sip without tipping the bottle back. This is especially handy during a workout, in the car, or at your desk. The trade-off is that the straw cap is not fully leak-proof if the bottle is turned upside down, so it’s best for upright carrying.

Which bottles work with a sip kit?

The sip kit is designed for bkr’s Little Bottle (500ml / 16oz) size. The kit includes a glass bottle with a silicone sleeve, three straws, and a straw cap. If you already own a bkr Little Bottle, you can buy the straw and cap separately, but the full kit ensures everything fits perfectly.

How to assemble your bottle sip kit

  1. 1. Remove the original cap and rinse the bottle: Unscrew the standard cap that came with your bkr glass bottle. Rinse the bottle with warm water to remove any dust from storage. Dry the threads with a cloth so the straw cap seals properly. A common mistake is leaving the bottle wet, which can cause the straw cap to slip. Always dry the rim.
  2. 2. Insert the silicone straw into the bottle: Take one of the three included Little Bottle Straws and push it gently into the bottle until it rests on the bottom. The straw should sit straight, not bent against the side. If it feels stuck, pull it out and reinsert at a slight angle. Check that the straw reaches the bottom corner of the bottle so you can sip the last drops. If it’s too short, try a different straw from the set.
  3. 3. Attach the straw cap: Place the Little Straw Cap over the straw and screw it onto the bottle neck. Turn clockwise until it feels snug—do not overtighten, as the silicone sleeve can shift. The straw should protrude slightly above the cap’s opening so you can sip easily. If the straw cap feels loose, remove it and check that the straw is fully seated. A gap between the straw and cap can cause leaks when you tilt the bottle.
  4. 4. Test the seal before carrying: Fill the bottle with water, screw on the straw cap, and hold it upright for a few seconds. Tilt it slightly to sip. If water leaks from the cap, unscrew and reseat the straw, then tighten the cap again. For maximum leak resistance, store the bottle upright in your bag. The straw cap is designed for upright use. If you need a fully leak-proof seal for tossing in a bag, switch back to the original cap.
