Quick Answer

Install your M-LOK foregrip by aligning it with the rail slots, hand-tightening the screws, and adjusting the position for your reach and shooting style. Use a torque wrench to avoid over-tightening.

Why Position Matters

The foregrip's position affects your control and comfort. A grip too far forward forces you to overreach; too far back reduces leverage. For most shooters, placing the grip just behind the support-hand's natural resting point works best. Adjust based on your arm length and shooting stance.

M-LOK vs. KeyMod: Know Your Rail

M-LOK is a free-license mounting system with a T-shaped slot. It's widely used and compatible with many accessories. KeyMod, an older system, has a keyhole shape. They are not interchangeable. If your rail is M-LOK, any M-LOK-compatible foregrip will fit. If you're unsure, check the rail's branding or consult the manufacturer.

Installation Steps

  1. Unload and clear the firearm: Ensure the firearm is unloaded and the magazine is removed. Visually and physically check the chamber. Work in a safe, well-lit area. Never skip this step, even if you're sure it's unloaded.
  2. Align the foregrip with the M-LOK slots: Slide the foregrip's T-nuts into the M-LOK slots on your rail. Position it so the screws align with the slots. The grip should sit flush against the rail. If the grip doesn't sit flush, you may have the wrong slot alignment.
  3. Hand-tighten the screws: Thread the screws into the T-nuts and tighten them by hand until snug. Do not use a tool yet. This allows you to adjust the fore and aft position easily. Keep the screws snug but not tight to allow adjustment.
  4. Adjust the position for your reach: With the firearm shouldered, place your support hand on the foregrip. Adjust the grip so your elbow is slightly bent and your wrist is straight. This reduces fatigue and improves control. Your natural grip should feel comfortable without stretching.
  5. Torque the screws to spec: Use a torque wrench or driver to tighten the screws to the manufacturer's recommended torque (typically 15-20 in-lbs). Do not over-tighten, as this can strip the threads or damage the rail. If you don't have a torque wrench, tighten firmly but avoid excessive force.
  6. Test the grip for security: After installation, apply pressure to the foregrip in all directions. It should not move or rotate. If it does, remove and reinstall, checking for debris or misalignment. A loose foregrip can shift during use, affecting accuracy and safety.
