How to mount your sheath with the Molle-Lock

  1. 1. Align the mount with your sheath: Line up the first and third holes of both the mount and the sheath. This positions the clip correctly for either vertical or horizontal orientation. Check that the holes align before inserting any hardware — misaligned holes will force you to start over.
  2. 2. Insert the female post: Take the female post and slide it through the aligned holes from the back side of the sheath. The post should pass cleanly through both the sheath and the mount. If the post sticks or feels tight, back it out and recheck the hole alignment rather than forcing it.
  3. 3. Secure with the male screw: Thread the male screw into the female post from the front of the mount. Tighten until the mount is snug against the sheath, but do not overtighten — the hardware needs to hold without deforming the sheath material. Overtightening can strip the threads or crack a Kydex sheath. Finger-tight plus a quarter turn is usually enough.
  4. 4. Weave the clip through MOLLE webbing: Feed the Molle-Lock clip through two MOLLE loops on your pack or vest. Start from behind the webbing, push the clip through the first loop, then catch the second loop before letting the clip snap back into place. A common mistake is using only one loop — the clip is designed for two loops to prevent the sheath from pivoting under load.
