Step-by-Step Rules
- Set Up the Grid: Place the blue game grid between both players. Each player takes 12 cubes of their color (one set is blue, the other set is red). Keep the remaining 1 unused cube aside. Make sure every slot in the grid is accessible from your side before starting.
- Start the Turn: On your turn, take one of your cubes from your supply and insert it into any empty slot in the grid. You can choose to place it anywhere you like. Common mistake: first-time players place cubes randomly. Instead, start building toward a row of five early.
- Knock Out an Opponent’s Cube: After placing your cube, you may use your turn to insert a cube into a slot that pushes an opponent's cube out the other side. That knocked-out cube is removed from play. You can only knock out a cube if your insertion pushes it completely out. If the slot already contains your own cube, you cannot knock yourself out.
- Win by Matching Five in a Row: The first player to create an unbroken line of five of their own cubes horizontally, vertically, or diagonally wins the round. If all slots fill without a winner, the player with the longest line wins. Watch for diagonal opportunities—they are easy to miss and often the fastest way to win.
- Play Multiple Rounds: After a round, reset the grid, redistribute cubes, and play again. The first player to win two rounds wins the game. The short round length makes it easy to commit to a best-of-three format without a time commitment.
