Quick answer
Use Petkin Doggy Sunwipes by wiping them directly onto your dog's exposed skin and coat before sun exposure. They provide instant, no-rinse protection with natural ingredients to help prevent sunburn.
When to use sun wipes instead of lotion
Dogs with short, light-coloured coats, thin hair, or pink skin are most prone to sunburn, especially on the nose, ears, belly, and groin. Petkin Doggy Sunwipes are a good choice when your dog won't sit still for lotion or when you need quick, portable protection on walks, at the beach, or in the garden.
Wipes are less messy than creams and don't require rubbing in. However, they may not cover large body areas as evenly as a lotion. For full-body coverage on a large dog, you might need several wipes.
How to apply Petkin Doggy Sunwipes
- 1. Choose the right areas: Focus on the nose, ear tips, belly, groin, and any bald or thinning patches. These are the most vulnerable spots for sunburn. Avoid the eyes and inside the ears.
- 2. Wipe gently onto skin and coat: Take one wipe and run it over the target area, making sure to contact the skin beneath the fur. Use a fresh wipe for each new area to avoid spreading dirt. One wipe covers about the size of a small dog's face or one paw. For a large dog's belly, you may need two or three.
- 3. Let the wipe dry naturally: Allow the product to air dry for about 30 seconds before letting your dog lie down or go into water. No rinsing is needed. If your dog tries to lick the area immediately, distract them with a toy or treat until it dries.
- 4. Reapply after swimming or heavy exercise: The protection can wear off with water or heavy sweating. Wipe again if your dog has been in water or is panting heavily in direct sun. For a full day outdoors, plan to reapply every 2–3 hours.
