Quick Answer

The Inventors: North Sea Devices promo set adds three Device Cards to Inventors of the South Tigris. Use them as optional starting bonuses or mid-game upgrades, but only after shuffling them into the appropriate decks.

Why Add the North Sea Devices Promo?

The three Device Cards are inspired by the North Sea Trilogy and give you a small thematic tie-in without altering the core balance of Inventors of the South Tigris. They are purely optional, so you can decide per session whether to include them.

What You Get in the Promo Set

The set includes three Device Cards, each measuring 54 x 86mm. They are standard card size, so they fit in the same sleeves you use for the base game’s device cards. The cards were part of the 2025 Man vs Meeple Gamefound Campaign and are not sold separately in retail.

How to Use the North Sea Devices Promo

  1. Step 1: Check Compatibility: Verify you own a copy of Inventors of the South Tigris. The North Sea Devices promo is designed specifically for that game and does not work with other Garphill titles. A common mistake is assuming the promo works with any South Tigris game; it only works with Inventors.
  2. Step 2: Shuffle the Cards Into the Correct Deck: Take the three Device Cards and shuffle them into the main device deck from the base game. Do not add them to any other deck or player hand. Do not place them as a separate pile; they must be mixed evenly into the existing deck to maintain draw randomness.
  3. Step 3: Play With the Expanded Deck: During the game, draw and use Device Cards as normal. The North Sea Devices function exactly like the base game cards—no special rules or extra actions are needed. Forgetting to announce the promo before the game can cause confusion; always tell other players that three new cards are in the deck.
  4. Step 4: Store the Cards Separately When Not in Use: After the game, remove the three promo cards from the deck and store them in a separate sleeve or card box. This prevents them from being mixed into the base game permanently. Leaving them in the deck makes it harder to sell or trade the base game later, since the promo cards are not part of the retail product.
