Quick Answer
The Sam & Max Wave 1 Sam action figure features 14 points of articulation and interchangeable heads, making it a versatile display piece for fans of the Freelance Police.
Articulation and Poseability
Sam comes with 14 points of articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic poses. This is a key feature for collectors who want to recreate scenes from the games, comics, or animated series.
Interchangeable Heads
The figure includes interchangeable heads, letting you switch between different expressions. This adds personality and display variety, but note that the heads are designed to fit snugly—handle with care to avoid paint wear.
How to Unbox and Display Sam
- Open the Window Box Carefully: Sam is packaged in a deluxe window box with new illustrations by creator Steve Purcell. Use a hobby knife to cut the tape seals without damaging the box art. A common mistake is tearing the box flap—cut tape, don't pull.
- Remove Sam and Accessories: Lift the plastic tray out of the box. Sam is secured with twist ties; snip them with wire cutters. Keep the interchangeable heads in the tray to avoid losing them. Check that all parts are present before discarding packaging.
- Pose Sam for Display: Use the 14 articulation points to pose Sam. Start with a neutral standing pose, then adjust arms and legs for action stances. Avoid forcing joints—they move smoothly within their range. If a joint feels stuck, warm it with a hair dryer on low for a few seconds to loosen it.
- Swap Heads for Variety: Gently pull the current head straight off the neck peg. Align the replacement head's peg hole and press it on until it clicks. Do not twist, as this may damage the peg. Common mistake: twisting the head can break the peg. Always pull straight.
