Why Care Matters for Adjustable Caps
Adjustable caps like your Somerset Patriots New Era 9Twenty are built for everyday comfort, but sweat, dirt, and oils can build up over time. Regular care keeps the fabric looking crisp and extends the life of the cap.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I machine wash my Somerset Patriots adjustable cap?
Yes, but with caution. Place the cap in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase, use cold water on a gentle cycle, and skip the spin cycle to avoid distorting the brim. Air dry only. Machine washing is convenient but increases the risk of shape loss; hand washing is safer.
How do I clean a snapback hat without ruining the brim?
Spot clean the brim with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not submerge the brim in water. For the crown, hand wash with cold water and detergent, then rinse thoroughly.
Can I use bleach or harsh chemicals?
No. Bleach and strong detergents can fade the color and damage the fabric. Stick to a gentle, color-safe detergent. Always test a hidden area first if you're unsure.
How should I dry my 9Twenty cap after washing?
Gently reshape the cap and lay it flat or place it on a clean towel away from direct sunlight, radiators, or hair dryers. Never use a dryer or wring the cap. Stuff the crown with dry towels to help it hold its shape while drying.
How often should I clean my adjustable cap?
Every 1-2 weeks if you wear it regularly, or after any sweaty activity. Spot cleaning between washes reduces the need for deep cleaning. Regular light care keeps your cap looking fresh longer.
