Packaging and Presentation
Super7 is known for its collector-friendly packaging, and the ULTIMATES! Wave 14 Hun continues this tradition. The figure comes in a window box that showcases the figure beautifully, with vibrant artwork that pays homage to the classic TMNT animated series. The back of the box features images of other figures in the wave, making it easy for collectors to complete their set.
The packaging is designed to be both display-friendly and protective. The figure is securely held in place with plastic trays, and the cardback is sturdy, ensuring the item arrives in pristine condition. For those who prefer to keep their figures mint in box, the packaging is certainly a highlight.
- Window box design perfect for display
- Vibrant artwork inspired by the classic series
- Secure packaging ensures safe delivery
Design and Sculpt
Hun's design in ULTIMATES! Wave 14 is a faithful recreation of his animated series appearance. The sculpt captures his imposing physique, with broad shoulders and a menacing expression that truly embodies the character. The details in his clothing, from the studded leather jacket to the torn jeans, are meticulously crafted, adding a layer of realism to the figure.
The paint application is clean and precise, with no noticeable slop or bleeding. The skin tone is consistent, and the shading on his muscles adds depth. The figure stands approximately 7 inches tall, which is consistent with other ULTIMATES! releases, making it easy to display alongside other figures in the line.
- Faithful to the animated series design
- Highly detailed sculpt with realistic textures
- Clean paint application with no defects
Articulation and Posability
One of the key selling points of the ULTIMATES! line is its articulation, and Hun does not disappoint. The figure features over 30 points of articulation, including a ball-jointed head, double-jointed elbows and knees, and a swivel-hinge torso. This allows for a wide range of dynamic poses, from fighting stances to more subtle character moments.
The joints are tight but not overly stiff, holding poses well without feeling fragile. The articulation is well-integrated into the design, with joints that are mostly hidden or blend seamlessly with the sculpt. Whether you're recreating a scene from the show or just posing him for display, Hun offers plenty of flexibility.
- 30+ points of articulation
- Double-jointed elbows and knees for dynamic poses
- Tight joints that hold poses securely
Accessories and Extras
Super7 has packed Hun with a variety of accessories that enhance the play and display value. He comes with multiple interchangeable hands, including fists, gripping hands, and open palms. Additionally, he includes a set of brass knuckles, a chain, and a baseball bat, all of which are scaled appropriately and fit securely in his hands.
The accessories are well-detailed and add to the overall value of the set. For collectors who enjoy displaying their figures with alternate parts, the inclusion of these extras is a welcome bonus. However, some may find the lack of a more iconic weapon, like a sword or a gun, a slight miss, but the provided items are in line with Hun's character.
- Multiple interchangeable hands
- Includes brass knuckles, chain, and baseball bat
- Accessories fit securely and are well-scaled
Comparison with Other Super7 Releases
When compared to other figures in the ULTIMATES! line, Hun holds his own. The quality of the sculpt and paint are on par with recent releases like the Transformers ULTIMATES! Wave 1 - Bombshell, which is known for its exceptional detail. However, Hun's articulation is slightly more limited in the torso area compared to some other figures, but this is a minor trade-off for the accurate look.
Transformers ULTIMATES! Wave 1 - Bombshell
In terms of value, Hun comes with a comparable number of accessories to other ULTIMATES! figures, making the price point reasonable. For TMNT fans, this is a must-have, and even for general collectors, it's a solid addition to any shelf.
- Sculpt quality matches other ULTIMATES! releases
- Articulation is comparable but slightly limited in torso
- Good value for the price point
The Super7 ULTIMATES! Wave 14 Hun figure is a fantastic addition to any TMNT collection. With its accurate design, solid articulation, and generous accessories, it offers great value for the price. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to the line, Hun is a worthy investment.
