Quick answer
Choose the Witch Queen Blood Red Edition if you want a dark, limited-artist statement piece. Pick the Free Hugs Bear Orange Edition if you prefer a larger, unsettling twist on a classic teddy bear at a lower price point.
Artist pedigree vs. playful unease
The Witch Queen is a Junko Mizuno original — her signature blend of cute and macabre makes this Blood Red Edition a collector's item for fans of her work. The Free Hugs Bear, on the other hand, leans into ironic horror: it looks like a friendly plush but carries a hidden, disturbing message that challenges your expectations.
If you value artist provenance and a striking visual narrative, the Witch Queen delivers. If you want a conversation starter that subverts the traditional teddy bear, the Free Hugs Bear is the better bet.
Size and display presence
The Free Hugs Bear stands 10 inches tall — noticeably larger than the 8-inch Witch Queen. That extra height gives it more shelf presence, especially if you're displaying it among other figures. The Witch Queen's smaller scale is compensated by its intricate sculpt and vivid blood-red colorway, which draws the eye even at a compact size.
Consider your display space. A taller figure like the Free Hugs Bear works well as a centerpiece, while the Witch Queen fits neatly into a curated collection without overwhelming it.
