Quick answer

If you want a 40K galaxy map for a compact desk, the Galaxy desk mat is the most affordable. For a larger Age of Sigmar fantasy map with rich realm artwork, choose the Mortal Realms mat. The Era Indomitus mat offers the biggest surface and a customizable 40K faction design, but costs slightly more.

What each desk mat offers

The Warhammer 40,000: Galaxy Desk Mat (product 1615837) features a detailed map of the 41st Millennium, marking Terra, Cadia, and the Eye of Terror. Its durable fabric and non-slip rubber backing keep it stable during gaming or work sessions. At USD 22.93, it is the most budget-friendly option.

The Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Mortal Realms Desk Mat (product 1615839) displays the interconnected realms of Hysh, Aqshy, and Shyish in rich map artwork. It offers a generous surface for a keyboard and mouse, with a non-slip backing for secure placement. Priced at USD 26.63, it balances artwork detail and desk space.

The Warhammer 40,000: Era Indomitus Desk Mat (product 1615838) showcases stunning faction artwork from the Indomitus Crusade. It is the largest mat at 80cm x 30cm x 3mm, and comes in colour and size options. At USD 25.89, it provides the most customization and surface area for a 40K-themed setup.

Key differences at a glance

The Galaxy mat is the smallest and cheapest, ideal for tight desks or simple mouse use. The Mortal Realms mat offers a mid-size surface with fantasy realm artwork, perfect for Age of Sigmar fans. The Era Indomitus mat is the largest and most customizable, but is excluded from promotional offers, so its price is fixed.

All three mats are officially licensed and built with durable materials and non-slip bases. The choice largely comes down to your preferred universe (40K vs. Age of Sigmar), desired size, and budget.

Trade-offs to consider

  • Artwork preference: The Galaxy mat shows a 40K galaxy map; Mortal Realms shows a fantasy realm map; Era Indomitus shows faction-specific 40K art. Choose the universe you love most—fantasy or sci-fi—and whether you want a map or faction art.
  • Size and space: Era Indomitus is the largest (80cm x 30cm), while Galaxy and Mortal Realms are smaller but still generous for a keyboard and mouse. If you have a wide desk and want maximum coverage, go Era Indomitus. For standard setups, the other two work well.
  • Price and deals: Galaxy is cheapest at USD 22.93, Mortal Realms is USD 26.63, and Era Indomitus is USD 25.89 but excluded from promotions. If you want the lowest price, pick Galaxy. If you want a larger mat and don't mind paying full price, Era Indomitus is a good value.
