Quick Answer
The We Are OFK 2xLP delivers the entire debut EP from the game's semi-fictional supergroup, pressed on two vinyl discs for optimal sound quality. It's a solid choice for fans of indie pop and narrative-driven soundtracks.
What Makes This Pressing Stand Out
The We Are OFK 2xLP is a product of iam8bit, known for high-quality video game vinyl releases. The 2xLP format allows for wider grooves and less compression, which can enhance the dynamic range of the music—especially important for the silky-smooth indie pop produced by Luna Shadows and Thom Powers.
While the pressing is not explicitly labeled as audiophile-grade, the 180-gram weight and double-disc format suggest a focus on sound fidelity. If you're a collector who values clear, warm audio over novelty, this pressing delivers.
Trade-Offs to Consider
The We Are OFK 2xLP includes only the EP tracks from the game, not the full interactive soundtrack or score. If you're expecting a comprehensive collection of every song from the game, you may be disappointed. However, for fans of the narrative and its music, the EP is a focused, cohesive listen.
The 2xLP format also means you'll need to flip or change sides more often than a single LP, which some listeners find less convenient. But for collectors, the tactile experience and potential sound quality improvements often outweigh this minor inconvenience.
