Quick answer
For a Next cot mattress measuring 120x60cm, you need a fitted sheet that is specifically designed for 120x60cm cot mattresses. A pack of two 100% jersey cotton sheets is a practical choice.
Why size precision matters
A fitted sheet that's too loose can bunch up, creating an uneven sleeping surface and potential safety risks. A sheet that's too tight may not stay in place or could put stress on the elastic. Using the correct 120x60cm size ensures a snug, secure fit around the mattress corners.
Material and comfort considerations
Jersey cotton is a popular choice for cot fitted sheets because it's soft against a baby's skin, breathable, and stretches slightly to accommodate the mattress depth. Always check the sheet's depth allowance against your mattress thickness to confirm a good fit.
Frequently asked questions
Will a standard 120x60cm cot sheet fit a Next mattress?
Yes, as long as the sheet is explicitly made for 120x60cm cot mattresses. The Next mattress follows the standard cot size, so sheets designed for that dimension should fit. Always check the product description to confirm compatibility.
What if my Next mattress is thicker than average?
Look for fitted sheets with a deeper pocket or more elastic around the edges. Standard 120x60cm sheets usually accommodate a depth of around 10–15 cm, but if your mattress is thicker, you may need a sheet specifically labeled for deep mattresses. Measure your mattress depth before buying.
How many sheets do I need?
A pack of two is practical because it allows you to change one sheet while the other is being washed. This is especially useful for nighttime accidents or spills. Buying a pack of 2 saves time and ensures you always have a clean sheet ready.
How do I care for cot fitted sheets?
Wash jersey cotton sheets in warm water with a gentle detergent. Avoid fabric softeners as they can reduce absorbency. Tumble dry on low or line dry to maintain the fabric's softness and elasticity. Skip fabric softener to keep the elastic snug.
