What's in the Box?
The expansion includes two survivor miniatures and their corresponding cards. Since it's a Kickstarter special, the content is exclusive and not available in retail stores.
Note that paid add-ons from the Kickstarter campaign are not included unless stated otherwise. This expansion is purely the character pack, so don't expect extra zombies or tiles.
How to Set Up and Play with Gilbert & Mortimer
- Gather Your Core Game: Take out your Zombicide: Black Plague core game box and set up the board, tiles, tokens, and zombie miniatures as you normally would. Ensure you have the rulebook handy for reference. Check that all core game components are present before starting.
- Add the Expansion Components: Open the Gilbert & Mortimer expansion and place the two survivor miniatures on the table. Shuffle the two survivor cards into the survivor deck from the core game. Make sure you don't mix in any other expansion cards unless you want to include them.
- Choose Your Survivors: During survivor selection, players can now choose Gilbert or Mortimer as their character. Each has a unique ability printed on their card—read them aloud so all players know what to expect. Remember that each survivor's ability is optional; you can choose to use it or not each turn.
- Play with Standard Rules: Play the game using the standard Zombicide: Black Plague rules. Gilbert and Mortimer follow the same movement, combat, and leveling rules as other survivors. No special setup or rule changes are needed—just enjoy the new characters.
- Adjust Player Count: The expansion supports 1 to 6 players. For solo play, you can control both Gilbert and Mortimer, or just one if you prefer. For group play, assign them to different players. If playing with more than 6, you'll need additional survivors from other expansions.
