Quick answer
Set up the Cat Condo Cornhole tower about 10 feet away, take turns tossing bean bags, and score points based on where they land. Challenge Cards add wild twists that change the rules mid-round.
What makes Cat Condo Cornhole different from regular cornhole
Traditional cornhole uses two slanted boards with a single hole. Cat Condo Cornhole replaces the board with a multi-level tower that has multiple scoring zones, so you aim for different openings instead of one hole. The included Challenge Cards also introduce unpredictable rule changes, like forcing opponents to toss with their non-dominant hand or swapping scores.
How to set up and play Cat Condo Cornhole
- Assemble the tower and set the distance: Unfold or assemble the Cat Condo Cornhole tower on a flat surface. Place the throwing line about 10 feet away for a standard game. For younger players or tighter spaces, reduce the distance to 6-8 feet. A common mistake is placing the tower too close, which makes scoring too easy. Adjust distance to match player skill levels.
- Divide into teams and decide turn order: Play 1-on-1 or 2-on-2. Each player or team gets four bean bags of one color. Flip a coin or play rock-paper-scissors to decide who throws first. In 2-on-2, partners stand at opposite ends of the throwing line and alternate turns, just like in traditional cornhole.
- Toss bean bags and score points: Take turns tossing one bean bag at a time. Points are awarded based on where the bag lands: a bag that goes through a top opening scores 3 points, a middle opening scores 2, and a bottom opening scores 1. Bags that land on the tower without falling through score 0 points. A bag that bounces off the tower and lands on the ground scores 0. Only bags that enter an opening or stay on the tower count.
- Draw and play Challenge Cards: At the start of each round, draw one Challenge Card and read it aloud. The card changes the rules for that round, such as requiring players to throw underhand, use their non-dominant hand, or aim for a specific opening. Follow the card's instructions for the entire round. Forget to draw a card? That's the most common mistake. Always draw a new Challenge Card before the first toss of each round.
- End the game and declare a winner: Play continues until one player or team reaches exactly 21 points. If you go over 21, your score resets to 15. The first to land on exactly 21 wins. Going over 21 resets you to 15, so plan your throws carefully in the final rounds. A bag that scores 3 points could push you past 21 if you're at 19.
