Quick answer

To apply Vetzyme Antibacterial Powder, clean the wound, sprinkle a thin layer of powder directly onto the affected area, and let it dry to form a protective barrier. Repeat as needed until healing is complete.

When to use Vetzyme Antibacterial Powder

Vetzyme Antibacterial Powder is designed for minor cuts, scrapes, and skin irritations on pets. It works by drying the wound and creating a protective layer that discourages bacterial build-up. Avoid using it on deep puncture wounds, severe burns, or infected wounds that show pus or swelling—those require veterinary attention.

Step-by-step application guide

  1. 1. Clean the wound: Gently wash the affected area with warm water and a mild pet-safe antiseptic or saline solution. Pat dry with a clean cloth or gauze. Do not scrub, as this can worsen irritation. Make sure the wound is free of debris and dry before applying powder.
  2. 2. Apply a thin layer of powder: Shake the Vetzyme Antibacterial Powder container lightly. Sprinkle a thin, even layer directly onto the wound. Avoid heaping the powder—a light coating is enough to cover the area. Too much powder can clump and reduce air circulation, slowing healing.
  3. 3. Let it dry naturally: Allow the powder to dry for 1–2 minutes. It will form a light crust or film that protects the wound. Keep your pet from licking or rubbing the area during this time. If your pet licks immediately, consider using a protective collar temporarily.
  4. 4. Repeat as needed: Apply the powder 1–2 times daily, or as directed by your veterinarian. Continue until the wound is fully healed and new skin has formed. Discontinue use if you see signs of infection or irritation. Monitor the wound daily; worsening redness or discharge means it's time to see a vet.
