Quick answer
Use tiered risers, clear acrylic stands, or wall-mounted shelves to keep 3-inch figures visible and organized without overcrowding.
Why 3-inch figures need special display care
Small vinyl figures like Dorbz and 100% Soft are easy to lose in a cluttered shelf. Their compact size means they benefit from deliberate spacing and vertical stacking to stay visible.
Unlike larger figures, 3-inch vinyl is lightweight, so you can use adhesive putty or small magnets to secure them without worrying about tipping.
Steps to display your 3-inch vinyl figure collection
- Choose a dedicated shelf or riser: Pick a shelf at eye level or use a tiered acrylic riser so each figure is visible. Avoid deep shelves where small figures get lost in the back. Check that the riser steps are at least 2 inches deep to fit most 3-inch bases.
- Space figures for breathing room: Leave at least half an inch between figures to prevent scratches and let each design stand out. Overcrowding makes the collection look messy. Use a small ruler or spacer tool to keep gaps consistent.
- Secure with removable putty: Apply a tiny piece of museum-grade putty under each figure's base to keep it from sliding or tipping, especially on angled risers. Test the putty on an inconspicuous spot first to avoid residue.
- Rotate figures periodically: Swap out figures every few weeks to prevent dust buildup and keep your display fresh. This also reduces UV exposure on any single piece. Set a calendar reminder to rotate every 3-4 weeks.
