Quick Answer

To fit the Rock Adjustable Collar, measure your dog's neck, adjust the collar to allow two fingers to fit snugly between the collar and your dog's neck, and check that the buckle sits comfortably at the side or back.

Why a Proper Fit Matters

A collar that is too loose can slip off during walks, while one that is too tight can cause discomfort or chafing. The Rock Adjustable Collar is designed for everyday wear, so getting the fit right ensures your dog stays secure and comfortable whether you're training, walking, or playing.

Because the collar is adjustable, it can accommodate a range of neck sizes, but you still need to measure accurately to find the right starting point.

Step-by-Step Fitting Guide

  1. Measure your dog's neck: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure the circumference of your dog's neck at the base, where the collar will sit. Keep the tape snug but not tight. Check that you can fit two fingers between the tape and your dog's neck; this is your starting point.
  2. Adjust the collar to the measured size: Loosen the buckle and slide the collar to match your dog's neck measurement. Ensure the collar is not twisted and lies flat. Double-check that the collar is not too loose—it should not slide over your dog's head easily.
  3. Put the collar on your dog: Place the collar around your dog's neck, with the buckle positioned at the side or back for comfort. Fasten the buckle securely. Make sure the collar is not too tight—you should be able to fit two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck.
  4. Check the fit and adjust if needed: Watch your dog for a few minutes to see if they seem uncomfortable. If the collar is too tight or too loose, adjust the buckle accordingly. Recheck the fit after a few days of use, as the collar may stretch or your dog's neck size may change.
