Quick Answer

Use the OPC Roaster Mug like a standard ceramic mug, but pour in hot liquid to trigger its color-changing reveal. Follow simple care steps to keep the design vibrant.

What Makes the OPC Roaster Mug Special

The OPC Roaster Mug is more than a standard drinking vessel. It starts as a sleek black mug, but when you pour in hot liquid, it changes color to white, revealing the OPC logo and a Queen of Hearts graphic. This heat-activated effect adds a playful reveal to your morning coffee or tea, making it a unique addition to your daily ritual.

Because the mug relies on a thermochromic coating, it requires gentle handling to maintain the effect. Avoid abrasive scrubbing and sudden temperature shocks to preserve the color-changing layer.

How to Use the OPC Roaster Mug for Your Morning Ritual

  1. Preheat the Mug: Rinse the mug with hot tap water before pouring in your beverage. This gentle preheat helps the color change happen evenly and reduces thermal stress on the ceramic. Skipping preheat may cause uneven color activation or a slower reveal.
  2. Pour Your Hot Beverage: Fill the mug with coffee, tea, or any hot liquid above 140°F (60°C). Within seconds, the mug will transition from black to white, revealing the OPC logo and Queen of Hearts graphic. Avoid using boiling water directly, as extreme heat can damage the coating over time. If the color change is faint, your liquid may not be hot enough. Let it cool slightly before pouring.
  3. Enjoy and Clean Gently: Drink as usual. When empty, wash by hand with mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Do not use abrasive scrubbers, bleach, or the dishwasher, as these can scratch or strip the thermochromic layer. Hand washing is essential. Dishwasher cycles can permanently fade the color-changing effect.
