Quick answer
The Sorcerer Base Game supports 2–4 players; to add a fifth player you need the Sorcerer Extra Player Board, which requires the base game to function.
Expanding your game night
If you already own the Sorcerer Base Game and regularly play with four, the Extra Player Board is a straightforward way to include one more friend. It works as an expansion, not a standalone product, so you must already have the base game.
Frequently asked questions
How many players does the Sorcerer Base Game support?
The base game supports 2 to 4 players. Each player builds a unique sorcerer by combining a Character Deck, a Lineage Deck, and a Domain Deck.
When do I need the Sorcerer Extra Player Board?
You need the Extra Player Board only when you want to play with 5 players. It adds one more player board to the game, but you must own the Sorcerer Base Game to use it. If you rarely have more than 4 players, you can skip the Extra Player Board.
Can I use the Extra Player Board without the base game?
No. The Extra Player Board is an expansion and requires the Sorcerer Base Game. It does not include cards or components needed for solo play.
What if I want to play with more than 5 players?
The base game and Extra Player Board together support a maximum of 5 players. For larger groups, consider the Sorcerer Case of 4, which contains four copies of the base game for multiple simultaneous sessions. For 6+ players, you'll need multiple base game copies or run separate games.
