Quick answer
Most SPACE INVADERS Micro Player Pro issues can be resolved by checking the battery connection, performing a system reset, or cleaning the cartridge slot. Use the diagnosis steps below to pinpoint the exact problem.
Before you start: what to check first
The SPACE INVADERS Micro Player Pro is a dedicated handheld that plays one classic arcade title. Because it is a single-game device, most issues are hardware-related rather than software-based. The most common culprits are dead batteries, a loose battery door, or a dirty cartridge slot. Try the simplest fixes first before assuming a deeper problem.
Diagnosis steps for common issues
- No power / won't turn on: Check that the batteries are installed correctly (observe polarity markings inside the battery compartment). Replace with fresh alkaline batteries if the device has been unused for a while. Ensure the battery door is fully closed and latched. If the device still does not power on after fresh batteries, the issue may be internal. Contact support.
- Frozen screen / unresponsive controls: Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Remove the batteries, wait 30 seconds, reinsert them, and power on again. This performs a hard reset that clears temporary glitches. If the screen remains frozen after a hard reset, the device likely has a hardware fault. Stop further attempts and seek replacement.
- No sound or distorted audio: Check that the volume slider is not set to minimum. Clean the speaker grille gently with a dry, soft brush. If sound is still missing or crackling, the speaker or audio circuit may be damaged. Sound issues that persist after cleaning and volume adjustment usually require professional repair or replacement.
- Game does not load / blank screen: Inspect the cartridge slot (the opening where the game chip connects) for dust or debris. Use a can of compressed air to blow out any particles. Do not insert any objects into the slot. If the screen stays blank after cleaning the slot, the internal connection may be broken. This is not user-serviceable.
